Is Baltimore the Heroin Capital of America?

Is Baltimore the Heroin Capital of America?

According to a National Geographic program that airs on August 27th, Baltimore is “where you want to be” if you are looking for heroin. The program, “Drugs, Inc.: The High Wire,” features masked “drug dealers” discussing their various run-ins with police and experience selling drugs in Baltimore. Very few of these speakers are identified.

By and large, programs like this are sensationalized to increase viewership. What’s worrisome here is how perception can influence action – and in a country where SWAT raids have increased 1400% over the past 20 years, unnecessary action can lead to serious violations of a suspect’s rights.

The Baltimore drug possession attorneys at Cohen & Dwin have decades of experience helping those whose rights have been violated by over-eager police officers. If you have been mistreated or are facing criminal charges for possession or trafficking, we are here to take your case and stand up for your rights, and to help ensure the best outcome possible.

We would be happy to meet with you for a free consultation to discuss your case and your rights in further detail and to help you better understand the most effective way to see justice truly served.
